I know its been a while since my last post. I have been a bit busy and just plain tired. I had been entertaining a Chihuaua while it's owner was out of town who was mentioned in a previous entry. During this time JB got 2 6week old Jack Russel Terriers. He was giving me one and the other was supposed to go home with the Chihuaua. Well let me tell you the Chihuaua was having no parts of that. Initially he went into straight attack mode and was hateful to anyone who touched the puppies. JB decided to keep the other puppy.
My dog is named Nemo since he was the runt of the litter or 10, plus if I put on the dvd he sits still as if he is watching it. JB named his dog Remy. Ironically, the dogs we chose match our personalities. Nemo is friendly, but teritorial and slightly selfish. Remy is not impressed with anything and keeps to himself. He always manages to find a spot away from the action.
With JB and I both having dogs now is adding a new dymanic to our relationship.
It forces us to make more time for each other and to stay on a schedule. This is a good thing. These puppies have given us some hilarious moments. I had all the dogs for the first week. I had to check myself. I was giving major baby mama drama. I called JB one day and he told me he had a hard day at work and was tired so he is taking a nap. I was like I get up at the crack of dawn to take the dogs out, work hard, come home cook dinner, clean house, play with the kids, and you going to lay on your ass talking about you tired. I just had to laugh as I heard those words come out of my mouth. I know it is not the same, but I have a greater respect for single parents.
I have not had a pet in 28 years. This is a huge responsibility. A puppy can be almost expensive as a child. I treat Nemo as if he is a child, unfortunately he is spoiled rotten by now. I don't feel guilty about too many things that I may do, but when I leave for work in the morning and he just stares at me with those big brown eyes looking all sad and pittiful. It just kills me. To make up for it, I spend every moment with him from the time I come home. I even let him sleep at the foot of the bed so he feels close to me.
We pretty much have settled into a routine and I plan to post frequently again.

Please! Do not bring your cute puupies over to our house. Anna will eat those dogs. Then again, Nemo has some sharp talons (like his master). It could be a draw.
